These Terms govern your use of the LouTru website and the commissioning of bespoke creative writing (the "Service") from Trulana Cousins ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order or using the site you agree to these Terms.
LouTru produces original, human-written creative work — including short stories, flash fiction, poetry, letters, and children's stories — to your brief. Each piece is written by hand from the material you provide.
All commissioned pieces are creative works intended for personal entertainment, commemoration, and enjoyment only. They are not legal, medical, financial, or professional advice, and should not be relied upon as fact or as a substitute for professional guidance.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, taxes, cancellations, and refunds are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms.
Draft pieces are typically delivered within two weeks of receiving the brief and any clarifying correspondence. One round of revisions is included with every commission. Timelines may vary during busy periods.
You confirm that the memories, prompts, references, and attachments you submit are yours to share, and that you have the right to have them used to produce your commissioned piece. You grant us a limited licence to store and process that material solely to deliver your commission.
On full payment, the finished piece is yours to keep, read, print, gift, and privately share. We retain the right to reference the work in a portfolio excerpt without identifying you unless you ask us not to.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, this commissioned work is for personal use only. Commercial rights and publication rights remain with LouTru unless purchased separately.
When you pay in full, you receive a broad personal-use licence to the finished piece: you may read, print, share privately with family and friends, gift it, and keep it for personal enjoyment. Unless we agree otherwise in writing, LouTru retains the underlying copyright in the literary work and the right to use a short, anonymised excerpt in a portfolio or marketing materials. You may not resell, publish, or commercially exploit the piece without our written agreement.
You warrant that all material you submit — including memories, prompts, names, references, and uploaded files — is either originally yours or that you have the necessary rights and permissions to share it with us. You must not submit content that infringes any third party's copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights. We may refuse or cancel any commission that appears to violate this rule.
After a commissioned piece is delivered, you may request one round of revisions within 7 days, provided the revisions stay within the scope of the original brief. Please be specific about what you would like adjusted. We want you to be happy with the finished piece, and most concerns can be resolved with revisions.
If you are still unsatisfied after revisions, you may request a refund under the 14-day money-back guarantee described in our Refund Policy. Refunds are processed by Paddle as the Merchant of Record. Refund requests made after the 14-day window are considered on a case-by-case basis and are at our discretion.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful, personal, and non-harmful purposes. You must not use the Service to create, request, or distribute content that:
The Service is intended for clients aged 18 and over. Commissions involving minors as subjects (for example, a children's story written for a child) must be requested by a parent or legal guardian, and must remain age-appropriate. We may, at our sole discretion, refuse, modify, pause, or cancel any commission that we believe violates this section or falls outside the creative work we are willing to produce, and we may report unlawful content or conduct to the appropriate authorities.
We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, suspected fraud, or repeated policy violations.
The Service is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties. Our aggregate liability for any claim arising from a commission is limited to the fees you paid for that commission. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
